Ner-A-Car

1924

  • During WW1 American Carl A. Neracher designed a motorcycle that would be clean, easy to operate, stable, comfortable and reliable
  • The name Ner-A-Car is a play on words involving the name of the designer and the characteristics of the machine
  • In addition, the Ner-A-Car Corporation started production in Syracuse, NY in 1922 producing another 10,000 double headlight US Spec versions
  • He came up with a machine that was constructed more like a car than a motorcycle
  • Production started in 1921 with the British Sheffield Simplex firm producing 6,500 single headlight Ner-A-Car’s for England and it’s colonies
  • This machine is a well restored British version fitted with a single CAV electric light and vertical mounted front springs
